Over the past couple of years Exhumed Cinema has been one of Strange Festival’s most-loved events, screening movies exclusively on 16mm and 35mm prints and igniting the flame of movie buffs all over Perth.
And the two movie buffs behind Exhumed, Satria Leech and Rob Denman, have since found a more-permanent home for their celluloid film obsession at the heritage-listed Como Theatre (Old Cygnet).
Called The Revival House Perth, it could not be a more perfect fit given its heritage value to film in WA.

“We are excited to keep celluloid alive at our new home and bring back the REEL cinema experience of the past back,” says Leech. “With The Como Theatre being one of the first talkie cinemas in Perth and Preston Street dedicated to celluloid film with its street art, it was the perfect fit.”
Dedicated to screening 16mm and 25mm film prints of classic, cult, family, and even more recent films, they’ve got a stacked program over the next month, with legitimately something to suit all tastes.
Film buffs can also take a tour of the projection room, offering a behind-the-scenes peek into the inner workings of the cinema, adding an extra layer of excitement and appreciation for the art of projecting films.
As you can imagine, Leech, Denman and the crew at Revival House are incredibly passionate about what they do, making every visit to this iconic Perth theatre one to remember.
