Cast

Runtime

Academy Award-winning filmmaker, Errol Morris (The Thin Blue Line) tackles a more challenging take on the events surrounding the infamous Manson Family in this all-new Netflix documentary, CHAOS: The Manson Murders. Based on the 2018 book, CHAOS: Charles Manson, the CIA, and the Secret History of the Sixties by Tom O’Neill and Dan Piepenbring, the documentary revisits the notorious crimes and conspiracies surrounding the titular family-turned-commune, gang, and cult in California, led by Charles Manson in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Morris, a documentarian reputed for his investigative narrative and diving into the epistemology of the subject, re-examines the complex and mysterious narrative of the Manson family murders, which might have been a result of covert motives from secret government agencies. CHAOS: The Manson Murders features in-depth interviews with people involved in the Manson murder cases, archival footage, and visuals, and includes music by Charles Manson himself, shedding light on one of the darkest and most chilling moments in American history, and challenging its powerful institutions and socio-cultural narratives.

Directed by

Anthony and Joe Russo

Cast

Millie Bobby Brown, Chris Pratt, Ke Huy Quan, Woody Harrelson, Anthony Mackie

Runtime

128 minutes

Set in an alternate version of 1997, The Electric State tells the story of Michelle, an orphaned teenager who befriends a friendly but mysterious robot to find her long-lost brother amid a technologically ruined American West. Along the way, she meets Keats, an eccentric drifter and smuggler, and his wisecrack sidekick, Herman. Directed by the Russo Brothers, The Electric State is loosely based on the 2018 illustrated novel of the same name by Simon Stålenhag, and serves as a sprawling, cinematic take on the unique, apocalyptic landscape created by Stålenhag. Millie Bobby Brown leads the massive ensemble cast as Michelle, with Chris Pratt as Keats, and Anthony Mackie as the voice of Herman. While the sci-fi adventure comedy is a quintessential sci-fi dystopian film featuring a planet in ruins, The Electric State’s underlying theme rests on the desperate search of a young orphan to find and reunite with her last family member while discovering herself and others like her, who have been left behind. With a story set in a retro-futuristic era, The Electric State is set up to be a visually delightful and fun adventure.

The psychological drama thriller is based on the eponymous graphic novel by Sang-ho and Gyu-seok. Acclaimed Mexican filmmaker, Alfonso Cuarón (Gravity) serves as the film’s producer. Revelations marks Sang-ho and Gyu-seok’s second collaboration since 2022’s Hellbound, which was written by Gyu-seok. However, as the film’s promos promise, Revelations is set to be much darker and deeper in its explorations of character psyche compared to Hellbound or any of their previous works. A revenge plot centered on a pastor with perverse plans and peppered with biblical references, Revelations is set up as a taut thriller that promises to keep you intrigued.
