The Rock had been an enthralling fixture for WWE on the road to WrestleMania 40, delivering memorable moments and being a part of major WWE sell-out shows with his energy not slowing even after a hectic WrestleMania week and wrestling at The Show of Shows.
Following his departure from Philadelphia after WrestleMania 40 festivities, The Great One made a surprise appearance in Las Vegas, where he unveiled the first footage of “Moana 2” at Disney’s 2024 CinemaCon panel.
The Rock, known for his boundless energy, exuded his trademark charisma as he discussed the significance of his role as Maui, which is based on his own grandfather, The High Chief Peter Maivia. Expressing enthusiasm for the sequel, The Final Boss emphasized the personal connection he feels to the character and the film.
“Now, playing the character of Maui has been one of the most life-changing experiences for me, one of the most life-changing roles… it’s my culture as you can see. I wear it on my body, my chest, my tattoos. The character of Maui was based on my grandfather… it’s so much deeper than a movie to me and so much deeper to Disney as well.”
Moreover, The Rock also hyped the film, and his appearance via his X as Moana 2 is set to hit theatres on November 27th, 2024 with the fans getting to witness yet another amazing experience of the Samoan-inspired character, ‘Maui.’
“Things need to get done ✔️
Big mahalo to #CinemaCon2024 for the incredible response to MOANA 2. Gonna be an honor to deliver it to the world this holiday season 🌍🌊🪝🩵.”
On the wrestling front, The Rock has gone on hiatus following the conclusion of WrestleMania 40 not before leaving the door open for a future one-on-one showdown against the new Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes after their tense confrontation on the RAW after the show.
