This Star Wars cosplayer perfectly captured Din Djarin’s look in The Mandalorian at FAN EXPO Chicago. Din Djarin is undoubtedly one of Star Wars’ best characters, and The Mandalorian is largely considered one of Star Wars’ best TV shows. In fact, The Mandalorian truly stands out among Star Wars movies and TV shows, as it will be the franchise’s very first show to jump to the big screen with The Mandalorian & Grogu. Perhaps because of this upcoming movie, FAN EXPO Chicago saw many Mandalorian cosplayers, this brilliant Din Djarin among them.

The cosplayer, Midwest_Mando on TikTok, donned Din Djarin’s iconic Mandalorian armor, including his essential helmet, at FAN EXPO Chicago this year. Truly, this cosplay is a dead ringer for Star Wars’ Din Djarin; all he’s missing is Grogu by his side.

This cosplay is also the perfect reminder of how exciting The Mandalorian & Grogu will be and how much potential that story has in the franchise.

The Mandalorian’s story will continue with a Star Wars movie. Here’s everything we know about the project, including cast, release, and timeline.

Excitement Is Building For The Mandalorian & Grogu

Of Star Wars’ upcoming movies, The Mandalorian & Grogu is perhaps the most highly anticipated of all. While Rey’s upcoming Star Wars movie, rumored to be titled Star Wars: New Jedi Order, is sure to be a thrilling addition to Star Wars, it feels as though many of Star Wars’ recent projects have all been building toward The Mandalorian & Grogu. Of course, that has included all three seasons of The Mandalorian, particularly The Mandalorian season 3 ending, which perfectly set the stage for this next stage of Din Djarin and Grogu’s story.

Specifically, The Mandalorian season 3 finale saw Din Djarin formally adopt Grogu and take him on as his Mandalorian apprentice, confirming that Grogu truly did pick his family bond with Din Djarin over the path of a Jedi. Additionally, the finale confirmed that Din Djarin is returning to his bounty hunter days, but this time with a very important distinction—now, he will actively be accepting jobs with the New Republic. Bo-Katan Kryze’s Mandalorian story had a massive update too, with her quite literally taking the Mandalorian throne.

However, Ahsoka season 1 also indicated what is likely to come in this next chapter of Din Djarin’s story. In fact, Ahsoka season 1 very likely introduced the main villain of The Mandalorian & Grogu. In the Ahsoka finale, Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren effectively switched places with Ezra Bridger and Grand Admiral Thrawn; Ahsoka and Sabine are now trapped on Peridea, and, unfortunately, Thrawn is headed back to the main galaxy. Undoubtedly, Thrawn and the other Imperial remnants will be the ‘big bad’ of this next era of Star Wars, The Mandalorian & Grogu included.

This opens up some incredible story opportunities for The Mandalorian & Grogu and beyond. It seems Star Wars is truly trending in a new direction, focusing on stories separate from the Skywalker Saga, the Jedi, and the Sith and moving into an era that explores brand-new stories. Just as this brilliant Star Wars cosplay makes clear, there is plenty to be excited about, both for the characters of The Mandalorian and in the franchise more broadly.

    The Mandalorian

The Mandalorian is set after the Empire’s fall and before the First Order’s emergence in the ever-growing Star Wars universe. The series follows the travails of a lone gunfighter named Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) in the outer reaches of the galaxy, far from the authority of the New Republic. Acting as the first live-action Star Wars series, The Mandalorian has become incredibly popular on Disney+, partly due to Mando’s relationship with Grogu, which the internet dubbed “Baby Yoda” upon his introduction in season 1.
