It has been over two years since Yash appeared on the silver screens. The actor was last seen as the infamous Rocky in KGF: Chapter 2. For a long while, the actor did not announce any new project until December 2023. The actor will be next seen in Geetu Mohandas‘ directorial Toxic. The movie is still a year away from its official release date. In the meantime, some reports on the project have been making rounds lately

According to a report by OTTplay, Toxic is being made in two parts. The first installment in the film franchise will be released next year. However, these are merely reports and no official announcement has been made yet. Previously, Yash teased that his next project would not be a big movie but rather a good one. He hinted that he aims to choose quality over the budget of the film.

Several rumors regarding the film claim that Toxic has already gone on floors. However, many are saying otherwise, suggesting that the filming will begin soon. Either way, the makers have to wrap the film within 11 months if they are aiming for the official release date.

After the film’s title teaser, its makers have not revealed any updates. Toxic’s cast has been a major discussion among movie buffs. Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor has been allegedly roped in for a crucial role. It was reported that the actress is not Yash’s love interest in the movie but rather his sister.

Kiara Advani‘s name also made rounds for the film’s female protagonist. Recently, it was announced that Advani is already set to make her Telugu debut with Ram Charan’s Game Changer. However, it has not been revealed whether she will be a part of Toxic’s cast.

Touted as an action drama, Toxic’s tagline reads “A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups.” Allegedly, the film will follow the story of a drug mafia in Goa. This will be complemented by Yash’s rugged appearance, as shown in the teaser. The film is slated to release on April 10, 2025.
