The world admires Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan for his extraordinary acting, yet there’s one person who once made him feel like a beginner: Farhan Akhtar, who directed the veteran actor in the film Lakshya.
Amitabh Bachchan’s illustrious career is studded with countless hits and a dazzling range of roles, sharing the screen with actors of every calibre. Yet, surprisingly, there was one actor-director who made the legendary Big B feel like a complete novice, a moment he vividly recalled on the reality TV show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC).
Farhan Akhtar’s Bold Move On The Sets Of ‘Lakshya’
Amitabh Bachchan shared this amusing experience during an episode of KBC. A recently released promo shows Farhan Akhtar and his father, Javed Akhtar, sitting on the hot seat, where Amitabh Bachchan recalled how Farhan Akhtar once mistook him for a novice on the sets of Lakshya.
In the clip, Farhan Akhtar asks, “We did a film together — Lakshya. How was your experience working with me?” To which Amitabh Bachchan replied, “One night he came to our room and asked, ‘Amit Uncle, are you having any problems?’ For the first time, I felt like a novice while this master sat there telling me, ‘Look, son, I’ll show you how to act.’”
This caused Farhan Akhtar, his father, and the entire audience to burst into laughter.
Birthday Celebrations And Iconic Film Discussions
The promo also features Amitabh Bachchan’s birthday celebration on set. This episode is scheduled to air on Sony TV on Friday. It’s worth noting that in an earlier video, Amitabh Bachchan was seen recreating a famous scene from Zanjeer in front of Javed Akhtar.
The celebrated duo of Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar penned many of Amitabh Bachchan’s iconic films, including Zanjeer, Deewar, Sholay, Don, and Trishul. Together, they created 12 blockbusters that firmly established Big B as Bollywood’s legendary ‘angry young man’.
Farhan Akhtar’s Tribute: Remaking The Classic ‘Don’
Farhan Akhtar also directed the remake of Amitabh Bachchan’s blockbuster Don, starring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role. Both parts were major successes, and a third instalment is currently in production.
