‘Wicked’ movie special with Ariana Grande shares new ‘For Good’ songs
Just under a year after the first movie hit theaters, the “Wicked” press-a-palooza is back.
In celebration of the impending release of “Wicked: For Good,” part two of John M. Chu’s epic film adaptation, stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande previewed two of the movie’s new songs.
During “Wicked: One Wonderful Night,” an NBC special that aired Nov. 6, Grande and Erivo performed “The Girl in the Bubble” and “No Place Like Home,” respectively, two brand new numbers added to the musical’s original Broadway score. Written for the sequel by composer Stephen Schwartz, the songs color in more of the story of the two witches from “The Wizard of Oz” – who “Wicked” reimagines as frenemies and foils.
