Uma Thurman has recently made honest confession about her break from action movies particularly after the success of Kill Bill franchise.
During an appearance on June 17 episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the Burnt actress revealed she stepped away from the genre to preserve her legacy as an action star.
“I never really followed Kill Bill up with action because I didn’t kind of want to be in a whole bunch of ‘B’ action movies,” she told the host.
Uma explained, “When you do Kill Bill, you never stop hearing about, you know, it’s like, ‘Oh, got to be very careful about what I do next.’ So, I did other stuff.”
Elsewhere in the interview, the Motherhood actress opened up about her comeback to the action genre with her new movie, The Old Guard 2 alongside Charlize Theron
Uma mentioned that the movie “put my toe into action again” as the project “seemed different”.
“Charlize was just so epic in 2020’s The Old Guard… And so, I thought, ‘Well, I could go do this for her in that,” pointed out the Ceremony actress.
Gushing over Charlize, Uma called her “phenomenal and incredible”.
Meanwhile, the Prime actress admitted that she enjoyed playing the villain in the new movie but she didn’t spend much time in training for The Old Guard 2.
“I had no training. I was like, ‘Oh yeah, a sword. I think I hold it like this,’” quipped Uma.
