Moviegoers have flocked to AMC Theatres locations nationwide for over a century to check out the latest and greatest adventure films. And, considering that so many of the highly anticipated 2024 movies fall into that category, it’s safe to say that thrillseekers are in for an unforgettable year of big-screen adventures.
With comic book movies like MADAME WEB, animated comedies like KUNG FU PANDA 4, and the return of major franchises like GHOSTBUSTERS, MAD MAX and KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES, there’s going to be a little something for everyone this year. Here’s a selection of the titles that will take us off to faraway lands or throw us in the middle of an adventurous journey in 2024.
Madame Web
If its mind-bending and action-packed trailer is any indication, MADAME WEB will be a wild and thrilling comic book adventure film for the ages. This upcoming superhero film set in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe will follow Cassandra “Cassie” Web (Dakota Johnson) as she tries to prevent the villainous Ezekiel Sims (Tahar Rahim) from hunting three young women who have the potential to be Spider-Woman. This movie will be a lot of fun, with web-slinging action, thrilling sequences on the streets and the rooftops of the Big Apple and characters with awesome powers.

Dune: Part Two
Denis Villeneuve’s DUNE: PART TWO, the highly anticipated sequel to the director’s adaptation of Frank Herbert’s science fiction epic, will finally hit the big screen in March, bringing with it a massive story about the battle between good and evil on the desert planet of Arakis. With the young Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) vowing to get revenge on those who took everything from him and rising in the ranks of the Freman, there’s a lot to look forward to here. Hero’s journeys, massive battle sequences and the introduction of new heroes and villains have us very excited about this blockbuster.

Kung Fu Panda 4
Nearly a decade after his last big-screen adventure, Po the Giant Panda (Jack Black) returns for another grand quest in KUNG FU PANDA 4. This time around, Poe is in place to become the new Spiritual Leader of the Valley of Peace, but before doing so, he must seek out a Dragon Warrior to take his place. An already difficult task is made even more dire with the arrival of The Chameleon (Viola Davis), a shapeshifting sorceress with the ability to mimic the kung fu powers of anyone she faces.

Ghostbusters: The Frozen Empire
Forty years after the franchise started, GHOSTBUSTERS: THE FROZEN EMPIRE will bring the action back to where it all began: New York City. This time, the Spengler family will team up with the surviving O.G. Ghostbusters to prevent the world from entering a new Ice Age upon the release of an ancient evil known as the Death Chill. With returning stars from the first two movies and 2021’s GHOSTBUSTERS: AFTERLIFE, as well as new characters, we’re in for one crazy ride.
