As heard in: Booksmart (2019)

If you haven’t seen ‘Booksmart’, you really should.

I have been banging on and on about it and made it my ‘Best Films of 2019’, but it remains criminally underseen.

Booksmart is all the good things you want a modern teen movie to be. Not to mention, it boasted an amazing young cast (Kaitlyn Dever, Beanie Feldstein, Billie Lourd, Skyler Gisondo) and an impeccable soundtrack.

Perhaps unbelievably, this was Olivia Wilde’s directorial debut, and her absurd talent fills me with quite a lot of envy.

And she has an amazing taste in music, as seen in the beautiful swimming pool scene towards the end of the film, accompanied by Perfume Genius’s ‘Slip Away’, just one of *three* tracks from Booksmart I included in my 21st Century Teen Movies Mixtape.

I told you I liked it, right?
