With the release of popular pieces of content like Amar Singh Chamkila, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Parasyte:The Grey, April has already proven to be an entertaining month. Judging by the lineup we have for this week, it is guaranteed that you will not have any trouble finding something worth watching.

This week brace yourself up for a variety of different genres that will have you hooked to your screens. There are many exciting movies and shows to look forward to this week, including Vidya Balan and Pratik Gandhi’s much-anticipated relationship drama Do Aur Do Pyaar, action-packed Rebel Moon: Part 2, and the Korean series Chief Detective 1958.

Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout


Manoj Bajpayee, Prachi Desai, Sahil Vaid, Parul Gulati

Written and Directed by Aban Bharucha Deohans, this sequel to 2021″s Silence…Can You Hear It? is here. Looking at the trailer, this time the cop drama seems to have more action, mystery and a stronger plot line. The plot revolves around ACP Avinash and his team racing against time and solving a series of murders which leads them to all sorts of twisted people, places and big revelations. The movie stars Manoj Bajpayee, Prachi Desai, Sahil Vaid and Parul Gulati in pivotal roles.

One of the most anticipated movies of the month, Do Aur Do Pyaar stars Vidya Balan, Pratik Gandhi, Ileana D’Cruz and Sendhil Ramamurthy in pivotal roles. The story revolves around a couple in their late thirties having affairs with different people but a trip to Vidya Balan’s hometown changes everything and they start running away from their respective affairs to spend time with each other. From the trailer, the film seems to have a good mix of comedy, romance and drama. This film also marks Shirsha Guha Thakurta’s directorial debut.

LSD 2: Love, Sex Aur Dhoka 2
Cast: Paritosh Tiwari, Bonita Rajpurohit, Abhinav Singh

The film focuses on the complexities of modern relationships in a time like now where the internet can either build or ruin one’s life. This sequel directed by Dibakar Banerjee follows parallel storylines of love and betrayal along with a journey of self-discovery. The bold and dark trailer portrays Paritosh Tiwari, Bonita Rajpurohit and Abhinav Singh in major roles with Mouni Roy, Anu Malik and Tusshar Kapoor having special appearances.

Civil War

Cast: Kirsten Dunst, Wagner Moura, Cailee Spaeny, Jesse Plemons

Directed by Alex Garland the film follows a trip through a dystopian future America that tracks a group of journalists with military ties as they race against time to get to Washington DC, before rebel groups overrun the White House. The film was released last week in the US and UK and has garnered quite a lot of praise from audiences and critics and is all set to hit the screens in India this week. Actors Kirsten Dunst, Wagner Moura, Cailee Spaeny, Jesse Plemons star in this action film.

Based on a true story, the story follows the journey of a father who cherishes his tiny, peaceful world with his daughter Gudiya and wife Radha and transforms his pain into a revolutionary movement. His goal is to fulfil Gudiya”s aspiration to play cricket. This emotional drama stars Rajpal Yadav, Giaa Manek and Kurangi Nagraj in pivotal roles and the film is directed by Palash Mucchal.

Rebel Moon: Part 2 – The Scargiver
Cast: Sofia Boutella, Charlie Hunnam, Anthony Hopkins, Ed Skrein

This sci-fi action film is directed by Zack Snyder and stars Sofia Boutella, Charlie Hunnam, Anthony Hopkins and Ed Skrein in pivotal roles. The plot revolves around a colony of warriors on the edge of the galaxy that have to defend themselves and their new home Veldt.The warriors face their pasts, revealing their motivations before the Realm”s forces arrive to crush the growing rebellion.

Chief Detective 1958


Yoon Hyun- Soo, Choi Woo-sung, Lee Je-hoon, Lee Dong-hwi

This latest Korean drama directed by Kim Seong-hoon is a mysterious crime drama that stars Yoon Hyun- Soo, Choi Woo-sung, Lee Je-hoon and Lee Dong-hwi in central roles. The plot is based on a young detective who becomes furious when he realises that human dignity is getting violated and he struggles to deal with this reality. He teams up with fellow detectives to fight these issues.
