Faversham features in Mark Wahlberg’s latest film, The Family Plan 2
Eagle-eyed viewers will have spotted some familiar Kent scenes in Hollywood star Mark Wahlberg’s latest movie.
The Family Plan 2 follows his character Dan Morgan and his family on a Christmas vacation in England, where his past as a covert assassin comes back to haunt them.

The Kent Film Office (KFO) says production crews visited Hollowshore Boatyard in Faversham, doubling for ‘Port Inconnu’ in France, where the Morgan family dock their boat and leaves for Paris.
Hollowshore is “surrounded by unspoilt marshland” on the north Kent coast, where Faversham Creek and Oare Creek meet.
Nearby is The Shipwright’s Arms, a 17th-century boarded pub, full of nooks and crannies and very much kept in its original form.
Those starring alongside Mr Wahlberg include Michelle Monaghan and Kit Harington.
The action comedy is directed by Simon Cellan Jones.

The Family Plan 2 was released on AppleTV+ last month.
It’s not the first time Kent has welcomed major productions to the county.
Horses, carriages and other props lined Beach Street as filming got underway for the production of Jane Austen’s beloved novel.
Actors in period costumes were spotted on the beach, with the landmark pier in the background.

The now-closed Three Compasses pub – one of the county’s oldest inns – was transformed, with a new sign, and tables and chairs set up outside.
Viewers were able to spot locations in Herne Bay, Whitstable and Tankerton in part of episode five of Black Mirror.
Called ‘Eulogy’, the episode featuring Oscar nominee Paul Giamatti and Patsy Ferran explored memories.
