Originally released in 2024, Longlegs is a horror thriller written and directed by Perkins. The film broke out the director into superstardom, and starred Maika Monroe and Nicolas Cage as an FBI agent and serial killer she’s been tasked with hunting down, respectively. The film grossed more than $128 million, and was praised for its viral marketing campaign and tone.
Shortly after Longlegs’ release, Perkins returned with The Monkey in 2025. That film was based on a 1980 short story from Stephen King, and follows the story of twin brothers (both played by Theo James) who try to get rid of a cursed toy monkey.
