Keerthy Suresh said she has a long way to go.

Keerthy Suresh is indeed one of the finest talents in Indian cinema. With her remarkable performances and mesmerising screen presence, she has evolved as the next big import from the South after Nayanthara, who is backed by Atlee. Recently, she spoke about the legacy she wants to leave behind and her transition to Bollywood.

When asked about her career path, Keerthy told Elle, “The legacy I hope to leave behind is of being an actor who took chances and evolved. I deliberately chose not to do more biopics after Mahanati because I want its impact to stand on its own. I know that continuing to experiment, and taking on roles that challenge me, comes with a higher risk, but I’d much rather do that than repeat the same kind of work.”

Further speaking about her transition to Bollywood, she said, “This is a very exciting chapter for me. I’m here to see what’s interesting, what challenges me – and balance it with the work I continue to do in the South. The process, the way things work in Bollywood, the culture – it’s all new and I’m enjoying absorbing it. I think I have a long way to go, and I’m in no rush. I want to get it right.”

Meanwhile, on the work front, she is set to star in Akka (Hindi), a revenge-thriller series backed by Yash Raj Films, which will open her up to a whole new Hindi-speaking audience. In Tamil, Revolver Rita has already created a buzz, with its bold premise and a promise of Keerthy in a fierce, never-before-seen avatar. Adding to that, reports suggest she will share the screen with Rajkummar Rao in a project produced by him and Patralekhaa.
