Details are limited on Samberg’s new project, and while a plot hasn’t been shared, it’s been described as a robot comedy.

As it currently stands, screenwriter Andrew Lanham is on board to pen the script, known for writing 2021 Marvel film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

Meanwhile, Radio Silence are likely to direct, whose new horror film Abigail starring Scream actor Melissa Barrera and Downton Abbey‘s Dan Stevens is released on Friday (April 19).

Samberg, who rose to fame on Saturday Night Live, is one part of comedy trio The Lonely Island with Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone. They have been busy promoting their new podcast with Seth Meyers, an audio series which sees the four comedians reminisce about their time on SNL.

As for his film career, Samberg last year starred in Self-Reliance alongside New Girl‘s Jake Johnson.

Samberg’s fellow Brooklyn Nine-Nine stars Terry Crews and Melissa Fumero are also set for a screen return soon.
