April 26, 20242 Mins Read

The latest main trailer has been released for TSUKIUTA’s anime film Rabbits Kingdom the Movie, which will begin screening in Japanese theaters on June 14, 2024.

The film was originally set to premiere in December 2023 before a rescheduled premiere was announced.

Ryuuichiro Henmi is serving as director and screenwriter for Rabbits Kingdom the Movie, with Jiku (TSUKIUTA. THE ANIMATION) as original character designer, Taeko Sato (ultra Maniac) as chief animation director, and Noriko Nishinomiya as animation producer. Fujiwara is credited with the original work and planning for the film, while Studio SIGN is in charge of the animation production.

The latest film commemorates the 10th anniversary of Movic’s TSUKIUTA franchise, adapting the fifth stage production that tells an alternate “what-if” story taking place in a faraway country. The project is part of the larger Tsukino Talent Production franchise.

The franchise inspired a TV anime series titled TSUKIUTA. THE ANIMATION, which is a music and original drama CD series about anthropomorphized months. The series centers around the Tokyo idol unit Six Gravity (consisting of characters representing December to May) and the sibling rival unit Procellarum (which consists of male idols born in Western Japan and representing June to November).

The first 13-episode anime season premiered in Japan from July 6, 2016 to September 28, 2016. Another 13-episode second season premiered on October 7, 2020 to December 30, 2020 after being delayed in 2019. Funimation streamed both seasons as it aired in Japan.
