Miley Cyrus releases uplifting new ‘Avatar’ song ‘Dream As One’
Singer Miley Cyrus has released an uplifting new single, ‘Dream As One’, for the upcoming ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ movie.
The 32-year-old co-wrote the original song with Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt. She says every word came straight from the heart.
“Even through the flames. Even through the ashes in the sky. When we dream, we dream as one,” the former Disney star sings.
Cyrus says the lyrics are appropriate not only for the movie but also for the current state of the world.
“Every lyric remembers where we’ve been, reflects where we are, and holds hope for what’s ahead for all of us. It was an honour to create something so personal for a film that connects so deeply with people around the world,” she wrote on Instagram.
The ‘Flowers’ hitmaker drew inspiration from personal experience.
“Having been personally affected by fire and being rebuilt from the ashes, this project holds profound meaning for me,” the singer said in October.
Her Malibu home was burned to the ground in one of California’s 2018 fires. “It’s a feeling you don’t ever forget,” she said while recalling the devastation.
‘Dream As One’ is already creating Oscar buzz for the movie. Music critics believe the track is a strong contender for ‘Best Original Song’ at the 2026 Academy Awards.
The nominations will be announced early next year. The song’s uplifting lyrics touch Cyrus’ fans.
“This is the kind of song that makes you stay seated through the credits just to cry a little longer… Avatar + Miley is a spiritual experience,” one commented on YouTube.
Another fan wrote, “This song made me so emotional. So excited to hear this beautiful song in the movie theatres. Deserves an Oscar. Bravo, Miley!”
‘Avatar 3’ is scheduled for release on December 19.
