Axar Patel revealed that Rishabh Pant sang the song Satranga from the blockbuster hit Animal while batting for DC during the match against GT on April 24, Wednesday at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. The Capitals garnered 2 crucial points as they defeated Gujarat by just 4 runs in a high-scoring thriller.

The official social media handle of the IPL shared a special video featuring Axar, who recalled the thrilling encounter. In an animated style and enacting Pant, Axar revealed that the star batter was humming the popular song by Arijit Singh, who has been ruling the Indian music industry for over a decade. Axar’s enactment of Pant revealed that the 26-year-old was in his zone and did not take any added pressure while batting.

‘PANT’ASTIC KNOCK BY DC CAPTAIN

“I thought it turned out to be the complete opposite. I had come to charge onto the spinners and here I have to keep things under control. After the time-out, the way he (Pant) was hitting and even I was able to hit and that is how we reached that total. It was an outstanding finish by Pant. I had a lot of fun. I was standing and clapping,” Axar said in the video. DC vs GT, IPL 2024 Highlights | Scorecard

AXAR RECAPS DC’s WIN VS GT

Axar jokily mentioned how every ball was coming towards him, just as he caught both the GT openers, Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill. However, he dropped Sai Sudharsan, who went onto score a 39-ball 65.

“The ball was not leaving me today, it was saying I will come towards you only. The first catch was of Shubman Gill and the next catch was of Sai Sudharsan, which I dropped at mid-on by mistake.”

Axar admitted that David Miller with his 23-ball 55 and Rashid Khan, who scored 21 runs from 11 balls, gave DC a massive scare.

“The spinners were bowling and Rashid bhai came and did some damage. Once Miller got out, we took a long breath. When Sai Kishore came and slammed a few sixes, I was like. All is well that ends well.”

However, DC managed a victory on the very last ball of the match after Mukesh Kumar held his nerves.
