A first trailer has been unveiled for EastEnders star Lorraine Stanley’s upcoming movie.
Departures follows Benji (played by Lloyd Eyre-Morgan), a man struggling to move on from a toxic relationship. The story explores alcohol addiction and destructive behaviour, as Benji revisits the holiday destination he shared with his ex Jake.
The first look begins with Benji and Jake breaking up, before a series of flashback clips reveal their complicated relationship. “You’re overstepping the boundary and that’s it, that’s the f*cking end,” Jake declares.

However, there’s more drama in store for the duo, as narrator Benji admits: “I wish that was the fucking end.”
The trailer sees a compilation of arguments, sexual encounters and partying, with appearances from various colourful characters. “They say the best way to move forward is to go back,” Benji narrates, as he confronts his painful past.
Departures features a host of UK soap stars, including Stanley (as Benji’s mother Janey); Hollyoaks‘ David Tag (as Jake), Tyler Conti, Olly Rhodes (as a younger Benji) and Isabelle Smith; as well as Coronation Street‘s Kimberly Hart-Simpson and Emmerdale‘s Liam Boyle (as Kieran).

“Described as Shirley Valentine meets an LGBTQ Trainspotting, Departures captures the raw emotion, humor, and complexity of a man’s quest for closure and personal growth,” reads the description.
“With its sharp wit, poignant storytelling, and unapologetic honesty, the film offers a fresh, relatable take on love and loss in the modern world.”
The gritty comedy was written by Eyre-Morgan, who also served as co-director alongside Neil Ely. The movie will debut at Manchester Film Festival on March 15, at the Great Northern Odeon cinema.
