It’s the weekend, and it’s time to have a look back at what’s hit Netflix over the past seven days in the United States. The streamer added 39 new movies and series this week, with some particularly obvious movies and series topping the US charts. Here’s everything added to Netflix between October 4th through October 11th, 2025. 

If you’re in the mood for some horror, Netflix added a few titles, but the ones we’d like to draw your attention to are the three Shudder Original movies that landed on Thursday. We’ve summarized them at the link provided, but they’re all worth a watch: Host, Deadstream, and Christmas Bloody Christmas.

What to Watch on Netflix This Weekend

My Friend Dahmer (2017)

My Friend Dahmer is a 2017 biographical crime drama that delves into the troubled teenage years of notorious serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer. The film is based on the graphic novel by cartoonist John “Derf” Backderf, who was a high school acquaintance of Dahmer’s. Starring Ross Lynch as a young Dahmer, the movie focuses on the period before his first murder, portraying his awkwardness, his dysfunctional home life, and his disturbing fascinations with roadkill. The film offers a nuanced look at the events and circumstances that shaped him during his final years of high school.

Of course, it’s an opportune time for Netflix to add the movie, given that it was the first subject covered by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan in the Monster anthology series. This movie has a very stark difference from the series, given the perspective, and it is worth watching, especially if you didn’t like Monster season 1.

Nurse Jackie (Seasons 1-7)

A big return to the Netflix catalog this week with all 80 episodes of Nurse Jackie dropping this week. The critically acclaimed medical comedy-drama series that originally aired on Showtime from 2009 to 2015. Edie Falco was in the titular role as Jackie Peyton, a complex and morally ambiguous emergency room nurse at a New York City hospital. While Jackie is fiercely dedicated to her patients and is an expert at her job, she secretly struggles with a prescription painkiller addiction, which leads her to make questionable and often illegal choices. The series skillfully explores the dark and messy realities of addiction, showing how Jackie’s personal and professional lives unravel as she balances her roles as a mother, wife, and a trusted nurse, all while maintaining her double life.

The Woman in Cabin 10 (2025)

Netflix is a little short on their own lineup of horror movies for this Halloween, with the closest being this new murder mystery thriller. It’s a stretch, I know! Playing the role of a journalist, Kiera Knightley’s character is invited onto a billionaire’s yacht and quickly becomes engulfed in a conspiracy plot after witnessing a murder, and is led to believe shortly after that it never happened. 

In our review, which we published this morning, we gave it a 2.5-star rating and awarded the MVP to Kiera Knightley. We concluded, “Knightley’s performance is the main attraction in a mostly forgettable script. Her ability to bring a level of intensity and thrill even when the filmmaking does her no favors is impressive. Even as generic as this one is, Knightley being the bold, smart, & fearless uncoverer of secrets remains a must-watch as she needs to be the lead in more films.”

It’s Groundhog Day again, as indeed, KPop Demon Hunters once again took home the most points in the top 10s despite plenty of competition from the October 1st arrivals. Netflix is still pumping the movie hard and you all keep rewatching it over and over. They even rewarded you this week by making the lyric videos available on Netflix for the first time. Nineteen movies featured in the daily US top 10s this week, with animation, as usual, doing very well, and it’s also a good start for The Woman in Cabin 10, which debuted yesterday.
