Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture (part 2)

Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture is preparing for the release of its second instalment, aka Part 2. This movie belongs to a four-part series, with the initial segment debuting in May, and the second part set to premiere in June. The third part is scheduled for release in July and the fourth part comes out in August.

Set in the universe crafted by Goro Taniguchi and Ichiro Okouchi, Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture is centred around two brothers who hail from Hokkaido during the Kowa era’s seventh year. Ash is the older brother, endowed with exceptional athletic prowess and Knightmare piloting skills and Rozé, the younger sibling possesses a talent for gathering intelligence and exhibiting leadership qualities. Together, they set out on a mission to reclaim Empress Sakuya from the clutches of the Neo Britannian Empire.

Ōmuro-ke: Dear Friends

Yuruyuri anime series unveiled two spin-off movies dubbed Ōmuro-ke: Dear Sisters and Ōmuro-ke: Dear Friends, scheduled for release in 2024. The former premiered in February, and the latter is slated to drop in June.

The latest spinoff, titled Oomoru-ke: Dear Friends, will centre around Sakurako and her siblings as they experience the joys of middle school and uncover the essence of love and life, all while facing various challenges.

The films are a collaborative effort of Passione and Studio Lings, under the direction of Naoyuki Tatsuwa. Masahiro Yokotani is behind the scriptwriting, Kazuyuki Ueda handled the character design and Yūsuke Shirato composed the musical score.

Sword of the Demon Hunter: Kijin Gentōshō

Based on the light novel written by Moto’o Nakanishi, Sword of the Demon Hunter: Kijin Gentōshō is another anime series in the June anime lineup, which is quite popular among manga readers for its feudal Japanese era setting.

The anime series tells the tale of Jinta, who is a protector assigned to safeguard a priestess in a secluded mountain village. Despite being an outsider to the community, he is given the responsibility of hunting down a demon in the forest to defeat it.

Kazuya Aiura, known for works such as Assassins Pride and Hori-san to Miyamura-kun (OAV), is directing the anime at Yokohama Animation Lab and Deko Akao is in charge of overseeing the series’ scripts.

Look Back

Look Back, adapted from Tatsuki Fujimoto’s one-shot manga, is scheduled for release in June. Kiyotaka Oshiyama, known for Flip Flappers, will be directing the movie at Studio Durian. Oshiyama is not only directing but also handling scriptwriting and character designs.

The anime movie follows Fujino, a fourth-grade student who creates a manga strip for the school newspaper. Despite being the class’s star artist, he faces a new challenge when Kyomoto, a student who avoids school, expresses interest in submitting a manga as well.
