“You drank all that tonight?” “I was trying to fix things…” Samuel Goldwyn Films has debuted another new US trailer for the romantic comedy time loop movie called One More Shot, set at a New Years Eve party following one desperate woman trying to win over her ex again. This premiered at the 2025 Melbourne Film Festival and already debuted in Australia a few months ago. An end-of-millennium house party becomes an endless, tequila-fuelled time loop in this funny film starring Emily Browning. Armed with a bottle of time travelling tequila, Minnie arrives at a swanky beach house on New Year’s Eve, 1999, only to discover that her former flame Joe, has brought his new girlfriend. When Minnie takes a shot and is suddenly transported back to the moment she arrived at the party, she soon realises she has a bottle’s worth of chances to win his heart. But as she tries to rewrite the night, things quickly spiral out of control and no matter what she does or how many times she resets, she can’t escape herself. Also starring Aisha Dee, Sean Keenan, Hamish Michael, Ashley Zukerman, & Pallavi Sharda. Looks fun enough – I’m always up for a time loop movie.

On New Year’s Eve, in 1999, with Y2K anxieties in the air and “Coco Jamboo” on the radio, anaesthetist Minnie (Emily Browning) jumps at the chance to attend a party with her ex Joe – whom she still hasn’t gotten over. But everything goes wrong when she realises he’s there with a new girlfriend. One swig from a bottle of tequila after midnight and, in the blink of an eye, Minnie has travelled back in time to the start of the party – a process that, she discovers, repeats with every drink she takes. Each do-over presents a new opportunity to fix her mistakes or compound them further. But will any of them allow her to win back Joe’s heart, or understand what it means to live with the consequences of her actions? One More Shot is directed by Australian filmmaker Nicholas Clifford, making his first feature film after the “Monologue” TV series and many other shorts previously. The screenplay is written by Alice Foulcher & Gregory Erdstein; from a story by Heather Wilson. Produced by Virginia Whitwell, Nick Batzias, Elise Trenorden, Jim Wright. It just premiered at the 2025 Melbourne Film Festival earlier this year. Goldwyn Films debuts Clifford’s One More Shot film direct-to-VOD in the US starting on December 12th, 2025 coming soon.
