Every Song Track in Netflix’s Nuclear War Movie
Kathryn Bigelow’s nuclear war epic picked up some buzz with the critics and audiences, just before quickly falling flat with both. A House of Dynamite is not particularly impressive to anybody at the moment, even though the film is about a radically important subject that needs to grab immediate attention.
But, while the issue of Bigelow’s story enthralling the audiences may be up for debate, the soundtrack of the film is not. From the arsenal of the exceptional composer Volker Bertelmann comes yet another film soundtrack that is less music to your ears and more a bellowing war cry of fear, urgency, and danger.
Below is a list of every track featured in the film:
1. Inclination Is Flattening (2:47)
2. White House (2:36)
3. Prenup Is Ironclad (0:56)
4. Click Alert (1:16)
5. DEFCON 2 (1:07)
6. Move to PEOC (2:01)
7. Negative Impact (3:02)
8. Doing Great (2:24)
9. Leave If You Can (1:57)
10. Your Orders (1:56)
11. Hitting a Bullet With a Bullet (2:35)
12. Suborbital (2:04)

If Volker Bertelmann’s previous credits are anything to go by, including All Quiet on the Western Front, Ammonite, Conclave, Dune: Prophecy, and The Day of the Jackal, then you are in for a treat.

All Quiet on the Western Front Composer Upgrades from WWI to Nuclear War With A House of Dynamite

Despite his decades-long career, Volker Bertelmann first grabbed the world’s attention with his soundtrack for All Quiet on the Western Front in 2022. The piercing, eerie, chilling, unnerving, unsettling, and disquieting melody still reverberates through the bones every single time one hears it. Rightfully, Bertelmann won an Oscar and a BAFTA for his score for the Netflix film.
3 years later, he swiped in his World War I credits for the nuclear epic, A House of Dynamite. For the Kathryn Bigelow film, Bertelmann scored the 112-minute Netflix movie while music supervisor George Drakoulias (who worked on films like Zodiac, Joker, and Barbie) picked the featured needle-drops. Kathryn Bigelow’s A House of Dynamite Fails to Get Its Message Across
There is little to promote when it comes to A House of Dynamite. The message is simple, in fact, far more direct and less satirical than Adam McKay‘s Don’t Look Up. Both tell the story of a world facing immediate threats of doom and annihilation, whether it be through climate change or nuclear calamity.
But like McKay predicted, people hardly listen when one tries to tell them a dangerous truth instead of a comfortable lie. Bigelow’s war epic is not a comeback director’s shot at the Oscars. It is a warning flashing in bleeding neon red about the teetering state of our current existence. At any moment, one flick of a switch from anywhere in the world could end all life in a blink.
But sure, let’s focus on the Oscar trumpets, the drum rolls, please, and the fashion statements of influencers on the red carpet come award season.
