Since her breakthrough in 2019, Pugh has been nominated for an Academy Award, featured in a Marvel film, has worked with acclaimed directors such as Christopher Nolan, Greta Gerwig, and Denis Villeneuve, and has gained international stardom for her performances.

While Hollywood may be obsessed with actresses such as Zendaya, who co-starred with Pugh on Dune: Part Two, and Sydney Sweeney, who was last seen in Immaculate and Madame Web, Florence Pugh’s filmography boasts of stellar movies that have won critical and commercial acclaim.

Florence Pugh began her career as a child actress in the film The Falling and then went on to portray multiple supporting roles. She gained acclaim for her role in the biographical sports drama Fighting with My Family and for the daylight horror film Midsommar. The same year she starred in Greta Gerwig’s period drama Little Women, for which she was nominated for the Oscars.

Pugh has since starred in multiple acclaimed films, both live-action and animation. The actress was last seen in Denis Villenueve’s Dune: Part Two, where she played Princess Irulan. She shared screen space with Christopher Walken, Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Austin Butler, and Rebecca Ferguson. The film, which was released in March, was lauded by critics and claimed the top spot at the box office (via Deadline).

The film won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature this year.

The actress’ previous live-action entry was the Best Picture winner Oppenheimer. In the biopic of J Robert Oppenheimer, she played the role of his troubled ex-girlfriend Jean Tatlock. Hollywood has always been obsessed with a starlet for a few months before moving on to the next best star. With films such as Dune: Part Two, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and the Euphoria series under her belt, Zendaya seems to be the ‘it girl’ for Hollywood at the moment.

The industry also seems to be obsessed with her Euphoria co-star Sydney Sweeney, who has starred in shows such as White Lotus and films such as Anyone But You, Madame Web, and Immaculate. The actress has had a bumpy road to success, with her recent Sony Marvel outing Madame Web being trolled online. However, she seems to have bounced back with Immaculate.

Despite the two starlets’ talent, Florence Pugh’s track record seems to be much better than theirs, turning her into a legend in the making. Since 2019, Florence Pugh has starred in two Academy Award-winning films, has been nominated for an Oscar, has worked in acclaimed films such as Oppenheimer and Midsommar, has become a Marvel superhero in Black Widow, and has also played an important part in the blockbuster Dune: Part Two.

Though she had limited screen time in her last four films, she has had a lasting impact on audiences. Rotten Tomatoes scores for her last four films have been in the 90-97% range and her upcoming films are also equally exciting. She is set to reprise her role as Yelena Belova in Thunderbolts and stars along with Andrew Garfield in the A24 romance We Live in Time.
