The Jonas Brothers unveiled their Camp Rock 3 movie trailer on Friday, prompting a snarky response from a fan.

‘Genuine question: are the Jonas Brothers in serious debt or something?’ someone wrote on X, implying that their movie is a desperate financial move.

Joe, 36, issued a clever reply, using a quote from the original 2008 musical: ‘God forbid connect 3 go back to where connect 3 connected.’

In addition to Joe, the boy band also features his brothers Kevin, 38, and Nick, 33.

The 40-second film teaser was posted online with the caption, ‘We’re headed back to camp! #CampRock3 is coming summer 2026 to Disney Channel and Disney+.’

The three siblings serve as executive producers alongside their longtime friend and original Camp Rock collaborator Demi Lovato.

Joe’s social media comment has so far received 42,000 likes while the original comment has 350,000.

However, most fans appear to be excited about the forthcoming feature, as the Instagram trailer has nearly 770,000 likes.

‘Music, friendship, memories,’ Nick says in a voiceover in the teaser. 

‘We’re back, exactly where we’re supposed to be,’ Joe adds before Kevin chimes in, ‘Still no birdhouse.’

According to an official synopsis, ‘The story picks up when Connect 3 loses their opening act for a major reunion tour, returning to their beloved Camp Rock to discover the next big thing. 

‘As campers vie for the chance to open for their favorite band, tensions rise, and friendships are tested, leading to unexpected alliances, revelations and romances.’

It continues, ‘Camp Rock’s all-new campers include bold and determined Sage (Segura) and her easygoing brother Desi (Hudson Stone), camp bad boy Fletch (Malachi Barton), cello prodigy Rosie (Lumi Pollack), drummer with his own beat Cliff (Casey Trotter), choreo queen Callie (Brooklynn Pitts) and intimidating influencer Madison (Ava Jean).’

Joe, Nick and Kevin will reprise their respective roles as Shane, Nate and Jason Gray.

Lovato starred as Mitchie Torres in Camp Rock and Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam, but will stay behind the scenes for the third installment.

In 2023 she revealed she ‘used to want to do’ an R-rated Camp Rock 3 film.

Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar, she said, ‘I used to want to do an adult version of Camp Rock 3, like, an R-rated one. But I think too much time has passed. And it’s missed its chance.’

A top Instagram comment left by a fan under this week’s movie announcement read, ‘I better see them Disney knees.’

Someone else added, ‘I can’t believe this is really happening. my childhood.’

Another zealous viewer said, ‘I wish I could go back in time and tell 2008 me who had a camp rock themed 8th birthday that she’d be getting a THIRD camp rock when she’s 26.’
