The Summer I Turned Pretty to Get a Finale Movie
The sun isn’t setting on the journey of Belly from Prime Video’s The Summer I Turned Pretty just yet. Following the third and final season of the series, the streaming giant has greenlit a feature film to conclude the chapter of the show.
Although plot details are too soon to tell, the movie will definitely expand the story of the lead protagonists: Isabel, Jeremiah, and Conrad. Amazon has also described the film as the final chapter in Belly’s journey. By extension, Lola Tung will return alongside Jackie Chung, Christopher Briney, Gavin Casalegno, Rachel Blanchard, Sean Kaufman, Rain Spencer, and more.
Jenny Han, who penned the coming-of-age trilogy on which the series is based, will once again return to the franchise as both director and writer.
In a statement, Jenny said, “There is another big milestone left in Belly’s journey, and I thought only a movie could give it its proper due. I’m so grateful to Prime Video for continuing to support my vision for this story and for making it possible to share this final chapter with the fans.” (via Variety)
The renewal comes as no surprise, as The Summer I Turned Pretty’s third season debuted with impressive 25 million viewers globally within seven days of its release. The season, which premiered back in 2022, quickly became a phenomenon, sparking a heated Team Conrad vs Jeremiah frenzy among fans.
The Summer I turned Pretty, Seasons 1 to 3, are now available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
