Chirag Paswan is celebrating a big win after his party, Lok Janshakti Party, secured an impressive 19 seats in the recent Bihar assembly elections. Before entering politics, Paswan tried his luck in acting and made his debut in the 2014 film Miley Naa Miley Hum. While he looked confident on screen, the movie failed miserably at the box office.
Despite the film’s failure, Paswan values the experience because it introduced him to actress Kangana Ranaut, whom he calls a “good friend.” Interestingly, both Paswan and Ranaut are now serving as Members of Parliament, associated with the ruling National Democratic Alliance.
When Chirag Paswan Realised Acting Wasn’t For Him
In an interview with the Indian Express, Chirag Paswan explained, “No one from my family has ever been to Bollywood. In a filmy way, I can say, ‘Meri saat pushto ka film se koi naata nai raha’. I was the first generation who was trying to venture into it. But, very soon, I realised that this is a disaster. Even before the country, I realised I am a disaster. I just came to know that I wasn’t made for this.”
“I have seen my father giving speeches, standing on the stage and talking impromptu and here they are giving me dialogues that’s written and I just have to say so much. They used to give a two-line dialogue to deliver and I used to speak for two pages and the makers used to be like, ‘you didn’t have to say so much,’ and I have grown up seeing my dad speaking impromptu, so I just assumed you can improvise dialogues and just say it. I used to do that but very soon I realised I can’t mug up dialogues and put on such heavy makeup,” the
politician added.
According to Chirag Paswan, “The Only good thing that happened to me after trying my luck in acting is that Kangana and I became really good friends. That’s one good thing we carried from that time. And I was really looking forward to meet Kangana in the Parliament because the past three years, I was so busy in my own life that I had lost my connection with her.”
Biharis’ Unfair Treatment Inspired Chirag Paswan To Join Politics
Paswan explained that another reason he left his Bollywood career was because of his experiences outside the film industry. He felt that if he was in Bollywood for a few more years, he might have built a good reputation in films.
But he decided to shift to politics after seeing how people from Bihar were treated unfairly in other parts of India. He noticed that
Biharis were insulted just because of their identity. This inspired him to focus on politics.
Directed by Tanveer Khan, Miley Naa Miley Hum also starred Kabir Bedi, Poonam Dhillon, Sagarika Ghatge, Neeru Bajwa, Dilip Tahil, and
