Netflix’s ‘Remarkably Bright Creatures,’ ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars’ on Paramount+ and More
In the mood for a heartfelt drama (with a dash of mystery) this weekend? Netflix’s new film Remarkably Bright Creatures is one of several new titles arriving this week and it certainly fits the bill. Also premiering this week on streaming, you can catch the first episode of season 11 of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars on Paramount+. You could also catch a different series, also centered on wig-wearing rivals, Amadeus on Starz, the new limited series about Mozart’s dramatic relationship with fellow composer Salieri. Oh, and if you love watching people getting taken down a peg, The Roast of Kevin Hart will be streaming live on Netflix this Sunday, too!
Not sure which new releases to check out? Let us here at Decider help you figure out what to watch this weekend and where to stream it.
New Movies & Shows To Stream This Weekend: Remarkably Bright Creatures, Amadeus, RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars + more
In the new Netflix film Remarkably Bright Creatures, Sally Field stars as Tova, a woman who finds comfort working at an aquarium where she befriends a Giant Pacific octopus and a wayward young man (Lewis Pullman) new to town who gets a job working with her. The film is available now. Also out this week, catch the premiere of a sickening new season of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars on Paramount+ arriving this Friday, and a fresh new interpretation of Amadeus on Starz. The new five-part series, also out Friday, stars Will Sharpe, Paul Bettany and Gabrielle Creevy.
Sally Field and Lewis Pullman star as unlikely friends in the new Netflix original film Remarkably Bright Creatures, based on the bestseller of the same name. The two star as employees at an aquarium who become unexpected friends when he’s hired to work with her. Oh, and not to bury the lede or anything, but Alfred Molina co-stars as Marcellus the octopus, the film’s narrator.
New on Starz May 8: Amadeus
White Lotus star Will Sharpe plays Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in the new Starz series Amadeus. Originally released in the U.K. last December, the series premieres on Starz this Friday and will run for five episodes. Like the iconic 1984 film of the same name, this telling of the life of Mozart and his rivalry with composer Anonio Salieri (played here Paul Bettany) is based on the 1979 stage play by Peter Schaffer.
Eighteen queens are competing for the crown on a brand new season of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars, out on Paramount+ this Friday. You can expect to see old favorites like Kennedy Davenport, Silky Nutmeg Ganache and Vivacious, plus a cavalcade of celebrity guest judges including Cooper Koch, Gina Gershon, Janelle James, Juno Temple, Kate Hudson, La Toya Jackson, Law Roach and Reneé Rapp throughout the season.
