90s child star who starred in iconic Hollywood movie hasn’t aged a day
THIS 90s child star shot to fame in one of the biggest Hollywood movies of all time.
But 33 years after quitting fame for a normal job, the actress, now 46, looks like she hasn’t aged a day.
Fans of Jurassic Park will well remember the teen character of Lex Murphy, who was the granddaughter of park founder John Hammond, played by the late Richard Attenborough.
But despite the blockbuster film coming out over three decades ago, Ariana Richards who played the teen character looks like it was yesterday.
The star, who briefly reprised the role of Lex in the sequel The Lost World in 1997, shows off her timeless beauty in her Instagram pictures.
Ariana keeps fans up-to-date with her day to day life as an artist, after ditching Hollywood.
Instead, the former child star enjoys a more relaxed pace of life, with her husband and child.
She has maintained her youthful looks, with fans often rushing to compliment her ageless appearance.
Ariana started working as a young actress in the late 80s, and even starred in the iconic sitcom, The Golden Girls.
But she could never have imagined the fame she would receive when she starred in the 1993 blockbuster Jurassic Park.
Alongside fellow child star Joseph Mazzello, who played the other kid in the movie, Tim Murphy, Ariana became a well known face around the world.
Previously speaking about how she landed the role in one of the biggest films of the 90s, she said that her audition was kept top secret.
In fact, Ariana was not even given a script to look over before her audition.
“The casting person just said to me, ‘So, Ariana, we’re going to put you on tape to share with Steven [Spielberg] and you’re going to act like a dinosaur is attacking you,” she told Radio Times.
“‘You just have to imagine this is happening and we want you to let loose and scream.’
“That was my entire audition, it was the weirdest audition I’ve ever done in my life!”
But despite her Jurassic Park fame, not long after the sequel came out, Ariana decided that she wanted to pursue other passions, and now works as a artist – and even paints dinosaurs.
In the early noughties, she studied a B.S Degree in Fine Art and Drama at Skidmore College.
Since then, Ariana has perused art as a career and draws inspiration from historic painters Monet and Degas.
The talented star’s work is award-winning and has been featured in art magazines.
She also previously posted on Instagram her huge painting of a T-Rex crashing through a museum.
