The Pups Go Prehistoric in First Look at ‘PAW Patrol 3: The Dino Movie’
The future of cinema looks bright, with theaters most popular with the youngest demographic. In recent years, the likes of Inside Out 2, Zootopia 2, and The Super Mario Galaxy Movie have been huge successes with global audiences, with the first two both breaking the record for Hollywood’s highest-grossing animation. 2026 will be no different when it comes to the exciting slate of movies for burgeoning cinephiles, with the likes of Toy Story 5, a live-action Moana remake, and The Angry Birds Movie 3 all scheduled for theatrical release.
Another franchise to have been wildly successful with children, since its jump from the small to the big screen in 2021, is PAW Patrol, the Canadian children’s series created by Keith Chapman. After several years spent becoming a global hit on television, the franchise made the transition to theaters with PAW Patrol: The Movie in 2021. Against a $26 million budget, the film scored an impressive global haul of $151 million, one that would then be improved on two years later with the release of the sequel, PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie. Now, a third installment of the big-screen adventures of Ryder and co. is on its way, and this time there’s a Jurassic Park-esque twist.
On August 14, 2026, PAW Patrol 3: The Dino Movie will stomp into theaters and hope to improve on the $200 million haul of its direct predecessor. Announced as being in development before the 2023 sequel had even hit theaters, anticipation has been slowly building for this threequel ever since, peaking in March this year with the release of a teaser trailer scored by new music from The Backstreet Boys, no less. Ahead of the movie’s theatrical debut, Collider can exclusively debut the image below from the movie as part of our Exclusive Summer Preview Event. An official synopsis for the movie reads:
“After their ship gets caught in a mysterious storm, the PAW Patrol pups crash land on an uncharted tropical island filled with dinosaurs. They meet Rex, a pup who has been stranded on the island for years and has become an expert in all things dino-related. When the PAW Patrol’s archrival, Mayor Humdinger, begins recklessly mining in hopes of exploiting the island for its natural resources, he inadvertently causes a huge, dormant volcano to erupt. The PAW Patrol pups are thrown into a series of high-stakes, dino-sized rescues bigger than anything they’ve done before, as they must stop Humdinger before everything on the island goes extinct.”
Who Stars in ‘PAW Patrol 3: The Dino Movie’?

Other notable names in the cast include Jennifer Hudson, Snoop Dogg, Paris Hilton, Bill Nye, Jameela Jamil, Terry Crews, and more.
