When a movie bombs as badly as Ron Howard‘s Eden, it sometimes takes the form of an oddity and draws audiences towards itself after landing on home video. But Eden, the star-studded survival drama that was dead-on-arrival in theaters some weeks ago, is struggling even on the PVOD circuit. It’s nowhere close to the top of the streaming charts, which continue to be dominated by hits such as Superman, Weapons, and Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. In fact, the movie was massively outperformed by the 56-year-old western Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, starring the late Robert Redford.

Several of Redford’s movies have sprung up the streaming charts following his recent death. While Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid took the fourth spot on the iTunes charts on September 21, the lower half of the list also included Three Days of the Condor and All the President’s Men. The latter two movies trailed Eden, which was hovering just outside the top 10 on the iTunes charts, according to FlixPatrol. Based on the true story of a German doctor and his wife who left mainland Europe during World War 1 and set up a colony in the Galápagos, the movie premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival a year ago, but received a limited release domestically only a year later.

In addition to de Armas, Eden also featured Sydney Sweeney, Vanessa Kirby, Jude Law, and Daniel Brühl. Despite their combined star-power, however, the movie grossed only $2.5 million worldwide against a reported budget of $55 million. It marked the second flop in a row for Sweeney this year, who previously headlined Americana. It was also de Armas’ second bomb of 2025; she starred in the $90 million action film From the World of John Wick: Ballerina, which made only around $130 million worldwide.

‘All the President’s Men’ Is One of the Most Influential Movies of All Time

Redford’s most popular films are having a resurgence on home video, and none is as popular as All the President’s Men. Based on the Washington Post’s investigation of the Watergate Scandal, the film also featured Dustin Hoffman. It’s often considered one of the greatest, if not the greatest, journalism movies of all time. All the President’s Men grossed $70 million at the box office, and featured Redford in the role of reporter Bob Woodward. You can watch the film at home, and stay tuned to Collider for more updates.
