“Tom and Jerry as you’ve never seen them before!” Roadshow Films has revealed their own official trailer for the animated movie Tom & Jerry: Forbidden Compass, set for a US release in theaters September. After first debuting in China last year, it’s finally getting released as an English language dub at every other country around the world. This is actually a Chinese production – despite it being the classic Tom & Jerry characters – it’s an animated movie made in China for Asian audiences. The beloved cat & mouse duo Tom & Jerry accidentally travel through time after activating a magical compass. Along the way, the duo meets curious allies and faces mysterious forces in a playful adventure packed with chaos and discovery. This will feature an English voice cast, though not in this trailer and no names are finalized yet. Originally made by Warner Bros Animation for China. It does look mildly entertaining – only worth a watch if you love this duo.

During a chase in a museum, Tom & Jerry accidentally activate a magical compass that transports them to another world. On their journey home, they meet a group of new companions and become embroiled in a conflict against mysterious forces in this playful adventure packed with chaos and discovery. Tom and Jerry: Forbidden Compass, also known as 猫和老鼠：星盘奇缘 in Mandarin, is written and directed by Chinese animation filmmaker Gang Zhang, making his feature directorial debut with this movie. Produced by China Film Co., Ltd along with Warner Bros Animation. This initially premiered at the 2025 Shanghai Film Festival last year and it opened in China last August. Viva Pictures debuts Tom & Jerry: Forbidden Compass in US theaters starting September 9th, 2026. It also opens in Australia starting in August. Fun?
