‘Project Hail Mary,’ ‘You, Me & Tuscany,’ + More
This week’s new movies on VOD feature some of the biggest films of the year so far. Among the movies you can now catch on digital platforms are Project Hail Mary, starring Ryan Gosling as the only man who can save the Earth from a catastrophic fate, plus the Steven Soderbergh art drama The Christophers, and the romantic comedy You, Me & Tuscany.
If you’ve been wanting Regé-Jean Page to return to his Bridgertonian form as a sexy leading man, You, Me & Tuscany will grant that wish. Page stars alongside Halle Bailey in the new film about a young American woman who travels to Tuscany and ends up falling for a man played by Page, and forming a bond with the rest of his boisterous Italian extended family.
These are just a few of the films that are available to watch on Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, YouTube, and through your cable service this week. Check out what movies are available to buy or rent on demand now.
Produced and directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, Project Hail Mary stars Ryan Gosling as Ryland Grace, a middle school science teacher who has been sent on a mission to save planet Earth from a cataclysmic extinction event when it turns out the Sun is dimming. While in space, Grace meets an alien named Rocky who is on a similar mission to save his own planet and as the two collaborate to prevent the existential collapse of their home worlds, they become unlikely pals.
In the new Steven Soderbergh film The Christophers, Ian McKellen stars as a painter named Julian Sklar whose greedy children (Jessica Gunning and James Corden) hatch a scheme to hire an artist, Lori, (Michaela Coel) to complete a series of unfinished paintings Julian started so they can secretly sell them off and make a profit. But the plan goes sideways when Lori and Julian team up to instead, foiling the original plan.
