After putting the Tangled remake on indefinite pause, Disney is reportedly fast-tracking the movie, and Sadie Sink has been speculated as one of the prominent choices for the role. The report comes from Nexus Point News, which claimed Sink, alongside Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 star McKenna Grace, Wednesday star Emma Myers, and 1883 star Isabel May, are being considered for the role.

While Disney has conducted rigorous screen tests to find the perfect fit for the live-action Rapunzel, as of now, it’s unclear whether the four actors in question have auditioned for the role yet. Although Sink is arguably the biggest favorite, and her involvement with other Disney franchises increases the likelihood of her casting, one fan-favorite is reportedly out of contention.

Tangled Remake Has Apparently Dropped One Fan-Favorite

Soon after it was unveiled that a Tangled remake was in the works, Sabrina Carpenter rose as a clear favorite for the role of Rapunzel. Not only did many feel she fit the character’s description, but her vocal prowess further solidified this sentiment among fans.

Semi-reliable scooper @MyTimeToShineHello alleged that Disney rejected the prospect of casting Carpenter in the shoes of Rapunzel for being too pretty. However, it’s important to note that neither Disney nor Carpenter has weighed in on this claim, so it should be taken with a grain of salt.
