The greatest adventure movie of all time is now free to stream
When I use the term “the greatest,” I don’t do so lightly. Since the dawn of cinema, there have been countless incredible adventure films to hit the silver screen. There are fantasy epics like The Lord of the Rings trilogy, dramatic and heart-pounding adventures like The Great Escape, Gladiator, and Interstellar, and, of course, sci-fi adventures like Star Wars that transport you to a galaxy far, far away.
As much as I love all those films, if I had to crown the greatest adventure movie of all time, the one that perfectly blends action, drama, and humor, it would be the film about the archaeologist who, as the saying goes, if adventure has a name, it would be him. I’m talking about none other than Raiders of the Lost Ark, the first Indiana Jones movie, released in 1981.
Directed by Steven Spielberg, Raiders of the Lost Ark is set in 1936 and follows American archaeologist and adventurer Indiana Jones as he races to find the legendary Ark of the Covenant before the Nazis can seize it and unleash its power. His quest takes him across the globe, where he encounters ancient ruins, fierce enemies, and plenty of snakes, all while racing against time to uncover one of history’s most sacred artifacts.
Raiders of the Lost Ark features an extraordinary cast, led by the legendary Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones. He is joined by Karen Allen as Marion Ravenwood, Paul Freeman as René Belloq, John Rhys-Davies as Sallah, Denholm Elliott as Marcus Brody, and Alfred Molina as Satipo.
Fortunately, if you’ve never seen Raiders of the Lost Ark or want to give it a long-overdue rewatch, now is the perfect time, since you can watch it for free on this streaming service for a limited time.

Raiders of the Lost Ark is now available on Pluto TV
Other Indiana Jones movies are also streaming for free
Every month, Pluto TV adds hundreds of movies that you can stream on demand for free, and this June, one of its biggest additions is Raiders of the Lost Ark. That means you can watch the movie completely free, with the only catch being that you’ll have to watch the occasional ad, given that Pluto TV is a free ad-supported streaming service.
If you’d prefer an ad-free experience, Raiders of the Lost Ark is also available to stream on Paramount+ with a Premium subscription. Or, if you’d rather add it to your physical media collection, you can pick up the movie on Blu-ray or 4K Ultra HD from Amazon.
Pluto TV has also added three other Indiana Jones films this month: Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. The only Indiana Jones movie not currently available to stream for free on Pluto TV is Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, the latest installment in the franchise, which remains exclusive to Disney+.
Additionally, Raiders of the Lost Ark is making a limited return to theaters for its 45th anniversary this June, so it’s worth checking whether it’s playing near you if you want to experience it on the big screen.

There’s much more than Indiana Jones
Beyond the Indiana Jones movies, there are plenty of other great movies you can stream for free on Pluto TV this month, including one of my favorite war movies of all time, Saving Private Ryan, which was also directed by Steven Spielberg.
You’ll also find blockbuster hits like Top Gun: Maverick and the original Mission: Impossible, both starring Tom Cruise, along with comedies such as The Big Short and 21 Jump Street. If you’re in the mood for something more dramatic, Good Will Hunting, Forrest Gump, The Whale, and Flags of Our Fathers are also available to stream for free on Pluto TV now.
