Academy Award nominees Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande are reprising their roles as Elphaba and Glinda in Wicked: For Good, which will be released in theaters on Friday, November 21 as the highly anticipated sequel to the first Wicked movie. Director Jon M. Chu also helmed this second film that was informally referred to as Wicked Part Two among fans, critics, and even those directly associated with the feature.

The sequel was officially titled Wicked: For Good as a direct reference to one of the most iconic songs (“For Good”) of the hit Broadway musical that’s served as source material for the films. It’s also a duet, which gives Erivo and Grande another moment to sing together and wrap up the film with their powerhouse vocals. Much like “Defying Gravity” closes out both the first act of the Broadway production and the 2024 feature film, “For Good” will have a similar function in Wicked: For Good.

After months of watching clips, teasers, first-look previews, exclusive shots, interesting soundbites, and cryptic social media posts, the promo cycle of Wicked: For Good has now entered its endgame era. In fact, the final official trailer of the upcoming sequel was released this Wednesday.
