An epic new blockbuster starring action favourite Jason Statham and a familiar face from Shetland is heading to screens this summer.
The “fast-paced” crime thriller is a Sky Original production boasting “high stakes” and an “exceptional creative team” at its helm.
Film enthusiasts will also be thrilled to learn that the project has pulled together a stellar cast, featuring well-known faces from some of Britain’s most beloved television programmes.
Performers from acclaimed series including Peaky Blinders, EastEnders, Shetland and Silent Witness all appear alongside Statham in the eagerly awaited new release.
The picture is helmed by Jean-François Richet, who previously directed the Gerard Butler thriller Plane, with Statham also taking on producing duties.
Sky Essential TV, Netflix and Sky Cinema

Sky’s Essential TV, Netflix and Sky Cinema bundle includes more than 100 channels, more than 1,000 films on-demand, plus subscriptions to Netflix, Paramount+ and Discovery+, plus two Vue cinema tickets each month.
Mutiny, which sees Statham stepping into the lead role of Cole Reed, opens in UK cinemas on August 21 and will be made available to stream on Sky Cinema later this year, reports the Mirror.
Sky’s official synopsis reads: “After witnessing his billionaire boss’ murder and being framed for the crime, Cole Reed (Statham) boards a cargo ship on a one-man crusade to avenge his boss’ death, only to discover an international conspiracy.”
Annabelle Wallis, widely recognised for her portrayal of Grace Burgess in Peaky Blinders, will feature alongside Statham in the forthcoming film.
Further cast members of Mutiny include Ramon Tikaram, familiar to BBC viewers from programmes such as EastEnders and Death in Paradise, alongside Atomic Blonde star Roland Møller.
Arnas Fedaravičius, recognised from Shetland, The Last Kingdom and The White Lotus, is set to appear in the cast alongside Silent Witness actor Jason Wong and celebrated performer Adrian Lester.
Andrew Orr, Head of Original Film at Sky, commented: “We are delighted to be working with Jason Statham again after the incredible success of The Beekeeper.”
He added: “Our audience love premium action films and Mutiny delivers on every level. It is a fast‐paced, high‐stakes thriller driven by an exceptional creative team, making it a perfect addition to Sky’s Original film slate.”
Following the release of the Mutiny trailer on YouTube, supporters expressed their enthusiasm for Statham’s work, with one viewer writing: “Jason Statham is now a movie genre.”
Another fan confessed: “The only person who can play the same character in a million different movies and I’d still watch it,”
A third viewer requested: “He’s back again. We need 2 movies every year please,” while another contributor stated: “My favorite movie genre. Jason Statham killing bad guys.”
Mutiny is coming to cinemas on August 21 and will be available to watch later this year on Sky Cinema.
