Written and directed by Damian McCarthy (known for his other horror films Oddity and Caveat), Hokum stars Severance star Adam Scott as a grumpy a-hole novelist named Ohm Bauman, who travels to Ireland to visit the remote inn where his parents once honeymooned to scatter their ashes. While there, Bauman learns that the hotel he’s staying in – specifically the honeymoon suite where his parents stayed – is now haunted by a witch who really has it out for him.
Aleshea Harris’ directorial debut, Is God Is, is based on her award-winning play of the same name. The revenge thriller is chock full of talent including Janelle Monae, Vivica A. Fox, Erika Alexander, Kara Young and Mallori Johnson, and is the story of two sisters (Young and Johnson) sent by their estranged mother to kill their father (Sterling K. Brown), who once tried to burn them all alive.
