Disney+ and Hulu’s new surreal comedy film featuring a Stranger Things star has been lauded as amongst the finest pictures of 2026 mere hours following its debut.
The fresh stoner comedy Pizza Movie launched on the streaming platforms globally yesterday (Friday, 3rd April) and has swiftly garnered a devoted cult following.
Gaten Matarazzo and Sean Giambrone portray Jack and Montgomery, two socially awkward secondary school pupils who struggle to fit in and face bullying from their classmates. Upon discovering a tin of drugs called M.I.N.T.S., they rapidly learn the substance triggers chaotic and aggressive hallucinations, rather than the calming experience they anticipated.
Jack and Montgomery discover their frightening trip can only be neutralised by consuming pizza and set off on a dangerous mission to obtain some from a delivery robot, the Snackatron 3000.
The ensemble is filled with comedy legends including Marcus Scribner (Black-ish), Caleb Hearon (Sweethearts), Sarah Sherman (Saturday Night Live), and the voices of Bobby Moynihan (SNL) and Harry Potter himself Daniel Radcliffe, reports the Express.
Pizza Movie’s zany and juvenile comedy has evidently resonated with audiences, as it presently holds an 82 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes and is heading towards becoming a future cult favourite.
“I’m not kidding by the way, Pizza Movie rocks, it’s essentially just college roommate humour but you’d be hard pressed to have a bad time watching it,” one enthusiast posted on X. “It got big laughs out of me which I didn’t expect at all, IT’S GOOD BRO”

“Best movie I’ve watched in 2026 so far,” a 10/10 IMDb review stated. “It really gave me a Scott Pilgrim kind of vibe! I am so picky when it comes to movies I swear I can never get into them anymore but this movie had my attention.
“Didn’t bother to check my phone. Very funny and witty, good storyline, AMAZING acting, great quality and graphics. Definitely not what you would expect from the movie title. I came across it and gave it a chance and I’m so happy I did!”
