October is set to be a huge month for Swifties. 

To commemorate the release of her 12th album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” superstar Taylor Swift announced there will be an accompanying film with a limited theatrical run timed with the album’s Oct. 3 release.

The 89-minute movie titled “Taylor Swift | The Official Release Party of a Showgirl” will play in theaters from Oct 3-5, and thankfully for local fans, several showings will be taking place in the New Orleans metro and the Northshore.

The movie will feature the world premiere of the music video for Swift’s song “The Fate of Ophelia,” behind-the-scenes footage of the music video shoot, lyric videos and Swift’s reflections on songs from the new album, according a news release from Cinemark, one of the movie theater chains partnering with Swift for the film’s release. 

AMC Theaters and Regal Cinemas will also feature the film in their theaters across the country. 

The following New Orleans metro and Northshore theaters have posted showtimes for “Taylor Swift | The Official Release Party of a Showgirl”:

The movie is unrated and will cost $12 before fees in honor of “The Life of a Showgirl” being Swift’s 12th album. Showtimes will begin at 3 p.m. on Oct. 3 and tickets can be purchased from individual theaters’ websites. 

Swift’s new showgirl-themed album was recorded while she was on the European leg of her record-breaking Eras Tour, she said during an episode of the “New Heights” podcast, hosted by her fiancé, Kansas Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. 

The album was inspired by the period of her life while on the tour, Swift said.
