3 Best Movies To Watch on Prime Video This Weekend
The revolving door of Prime Video movies continues to throw out new chart-toppers as subscribers wait for the latest high-profile release. At the time of writing, the 2025 box office flop Love Hurts, which stars Ke Huy Quan alongside Ariana DeBose and Cam Gigandet, is currently topping the US Prime Video movie charts, ousting Liam Neeson‘s Ice Road: Vengeance and Jason Statham‘s A Working Man, two films that had recently occupied the position. With plenty more exciting content to watch on the streamer, plus the arrival of the new big-budget flick everyone’s been waiting for, here’s a look at the three movies you need to watch this weekend on Prime Video.

‘Play Dirty’ (2025)
If you’re looking for a Prime Video recommendation for this weekend, there’s no better place to start than with the streamer’s big new arrival. Directed by The Nice Guys’ Shane Black, the crime thriller Play Dirty stars Academy Award nominee Mark Wahlberg as a ruthless thief about to stumble across the biggest heist of his career. Alongside his esteemed crew, Wahlberg’s Parker battles the New York mob, feeling as if he has nothing to lose.
Inspired by the 1960s crime novels by Donald E. Westlake, Play Dirty is an exciting, action-packed crime caper with all the trimmings. Not set to threaten 2026’s awards season, the film is better that way as a fast-paced, entertaining popcorn flick perfect to keep you occupied this weekend. Alongside Wahlberg, the movie features a stellar ensemble cast, including the likes of Rosa Salazar, LaKeith Stanfield, Tony Shalhoub, and Keegan-Michael Key. You won’t want to miss this.

‘The Great Gatsby’ (2013)
Right now, no actor is more talked about than Leonardo DiCaprio, thanks to the release of director Paul Thomas Anderson‘s latest masterpiece, One Battle After Another. If you’ve already been to the theater to catch One Battle After Another and are looking for your next DiCaprio fix, why not try one of his best movies this weekend?
Baz Luhrmann‘s The Great Gatsby, an adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald‘s literary classic, sees DiCaprio take on the titular role of the mysterious millionaire desperate to reconnect with the love of his life. A typically Luhrmann vibrancy covers every frame of this 2013 gem, and although some may call it style over substance, it’s undeniably effective. Featuring a Bridgerton-esque modern Jay-Z soundtrack adapted to sound appropriate for the 1920s, this is sure to add a sparkle to your weekend.

‘Support the Girls’ (2018)
Looking for a cause to keep you grounded this weekend? Why not Support the Girls? Written and directed by Andrew Bujalski, this dark comedy follows Regina Hall‘s Lisa Conroy, the general manager of the sports bar “breastaurant” Double Whammies. Over the course of one unassuming, chaotic day, her never-ending optimism is put to the ultimate test as everything begins to go wrong.
A workplace comedy that never sits still, Support the Girls is utterly hilarious from start to finish. Dubbed by former President Obama as one of his favorite films of 2018, the film was adored by critics upon arrival, thanks in no small part to Hall’s indulgent lead performance that even led to a New York Critics Circle Award for Best Actress, with Hall becoming the first Black woman to win the prize.
