BBC Strictly star Tom Skinner’s children land major Hollywood movie role | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV
Strictly Come Dancing will return on Saturday (October 4) with its 15 celebrity contestants returning to the stage with their glitzy performances. This star-studded line-up also includes The Apprentice star Tom Skinner, who is paired with the beloved pro Amy Dowden. As they prepare to dance the Salsa to Bonkers by Dizzee Rascal and Armand Van Helden, it was revealed that the 34-year-old children have already made their mark in the acting world. Tom and his wife Sinéad Chambers share three children, a son, Henry, three and twin daughters, Roma and Darla, two.
It was revealed that their two toddlers will be making their first-ever feature film debut after their father signed them to a talent agency just days after their birth. Together, they have landed a role in Hollywood icon George Clooney’s new Netflix blockbuster, Jay Kelly, before their first birthday. It was reported that Roma and Darla will appear in a scene where George cradles them in his arms as he steps out of a taxi.
According to a source via The Sun: “Thomas is a proud dad and isn’t ashamed he’s leaning into the nepo craze. Not many parents can say their kids have appeared in a movie, never mind a George Clooney one. Regardless of the money involved, what a brilliant thing to be involved in.”
The film sees George portray fictional movie star Jay Kelly alongside Adam Sandler as his manager Ron, which started shooting in spring 2024, when the girls were around 10 months old.
Jay Kelly, which will be released on Netflix next month, has been described as a “coming-of-age drama film” and has also landed Sandler’s first Oscar nomination.
Tom previously confessed that he had missed the birth of his daughters, who were born prematurely in June 2023.
He was abroad in North Carolina, managing the West Ham Legends team in a tournament, when Sinead called to inform him that she needed an emergency C-section within the next 24 hours.
Speaking to The Sun, the reality star reflected: “The doctor said to me they noticed in a routine scan that Twin B had not gained any weight and hasn’t grown at all, and her heartbeat is really slow.
“He told me ‘there’s a significant risk to your wife’s life and twins’ life if we don’t get them out immediately. ‘We need to get these babies out within the next 24 hours, latest, but I want to do it now.’”
At the time, the reality star revealed there was so much uncertainty about the lives of his daughters and wife. Thankfully, when he eventually landed, his sister told him Sinead was doing well, and his twins were in incubators on oxygen.
